New foray by the Casino group into the metaverse

Two months after a first initiative in the metaverse via a partnership with The SandBox, the Leader Price Group is launching a new initiative this Thursday, 7 April, which will see its customers offered NFTs with their food orders.


With this new practical project, the Casino Group aims to enhance the commitment of the Leader Price Community by offering unique and innovative experiences," says a spokesperson for the Casino Group. It also aims to democratise access to NFTs and explore future uses, including the use of Wallet and NFTs as a way to access new customer experiences."


Access to special promotions

Two months after a first initiative in the world of metaverse via a partnership with The SandBox, the Leader Price Group launches this Thursday, April 7, a new initiative with its customers, who will be offered NFTs in their food orders. These NFTs, which will take the form of small playful avatars/characters, will give them access to promotions dedicated to them. Other benefits linked to these NFTs are under consideration.


These initiatives (the Leader Price Club on The Sandbox or the NFT of Monoprix) have a similar desire: "to bring the Group's customers into the world of virtual worlds, but they use different mechanisms, which are tailored to each community and type of customer".

The main objective? To foresee changes in society and evolving consumer habits in order to meet the customers' needs, notably in the future. In concrete terms, this means being able to offer new hybrid experiences to consumers, combining physical and digital commerce, entertainment, social and human interaction.


Creating value online and offline

"Our ambition is to be among the first to seize the opportunities offered by virtual worlds, notably by pursuing the acquisition and transformation of land on the metaverse, in order to be able to develop customer experiences for the Group's various brands and thus create value both online and offline", points out the spokesperson.

In concrete terms, the 100 most loyal customers of the Leader Price Club will be offered a genuine NFT (Non-Fungible Token).


They will receive a QR code by email inviting them to download a Leader Price Wallet application, specially developed by Arianee, a partner of the group. This application will allow them to create a wallet in a few clicks in which they will find a unique NFT. These NFTs will take the form of avatars, which will allow them to access rewards, made for Leader Price Club members.


Within the next two months, another 900 NFTs will be offered and included with the order of customers who have requested them. In total, 1,000 NFTs corresponding to 10 avatars in 100 copies will be distributed. They were designed by BEM builders. These entertaining avatars will symbolise different retail professions and different customer profiles, such as a baker, a deliveryman, a pastry chef or a winemaker. They will allow their holders to access specialised promotions directly linked to the avatar's profile. Holders of the Deliveryman NFT will, for example, receive discounts on their delivery costs. Holders of the NFT Vignerons will benefit from a promotion on items in the wine department.


Then, in a second phase, each Leader Price Club NFT holder will be able to exchange their NFT on a secondary market for one or more other Leader Price Club NFTs, in order to increase their portfolio or choose the NFT that offers the advantages that interest them most.


The Leader Price Club NFTs are not monetisable, but are intended to accompany customers, to familiarise them with the NFTs in an educational manner and, in so doing, to develop the attachment of communities to the Group's brands.
